Giovanni Duca

Ciao! I’m Giovanni.

I’m a Research Engineer at ALMAnaCH (Inria Paris), working with Djamé Seddah on computational propaganda. I hold a Master’s degree in Cognitive Science from CIMeC (University of Trento), which I completed after writing my thesis at ArticuLab on visually grounding information to improve human-computer interaction relative to dialogue systems.

My approach is grounded in a deep interest in pragmatics, linguistics and how culture shapes communication, a perspective I developed during my B.A. in Comparative Languages. I appreciate my interdisciplinarity and being able to mix and match concepts from a variety of fields. I’m also passionate about privacy, ethics, communication, and their implications in our rapidly developing digital world.

Outside of my research, you’ll probably find me enjoying a movie, talking about the last book I read, or heading out for a hike.
